After going to Ventana Wilderness on a really hot day and then hiking to Gem Lakes and Crystal Lake I've realized that I am a high altitude dog. That isn't much of a suprise since I'm a Tibetan Terrier. But what suprised Tom & Timber was the fact that I jumped 8 - 10 feet over a stream, was extremely nimble on the rocks and trail, and that I played in the snow. It was nice and cool, I was off the leash, and I had the wind blowing through my hair. The hike to Gem Lakes started at roughly 10k feet, and I never had any problems with the altitude. In fact, I really enjoyed it because it was nice and cool and there were lots of streams for me to drink from on the way there. So now I'm lobbying Tom & Timber to either move to Mammoth Lakes or Alaska. Wish me luck!
